68 hours in Queenstown

With an increase in demand for bookings in Queenstown, we decided to head down for 3 days to explore the area and find some hidden gems.

While waiting to board our flight, ahead of our whirlwind tour of 17 locations across 2 and a half days, my extensive research would ensure that we visited carefully selected venues with the most breathtaking views.

Queenstown is full of over rated tourist attractions, however I was seeking those that are more exclusive and intimate for our wonderful clients and ones that can offer you the most Romantic experience that you will remember for the rest of your lives.

Upon landing, we loaded up the car and headed straight out to Kelvin Heights, Jacks Point Beach and Drift Bay seeking suitable private lakeside locations for our set ups.  We then headed back to our hotel to check in and soak up the amazing lakefront views from the comfort of our suite.

Lakefront views and walking distance to downtown Queenstown

While our chosen hotel had many areas for improvement, it was more than suitable for a place to lay our heads as we took in all the sights and sounds that Queenstown had to offer.

At $189 per night (including breakfast), the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Lakefront is only a 7-minute walk to downtown Queenstown and the perfect location for accessing the lakefront and nearby botanical gardens.

Breathtaking scenery surrounding Lake Wakatipu

With a full day ahead visiting amazing locations all the way from Mount Crichton through to Arrowtown, we headed out after breakfast, for a brisk stroll around the waterfront trail that surrounds the beautiful botanical gardens.

A trip to Arrowtown wouldn’t be complete without popping into the Royalburn Farmshop to purchase some delicious treats.  I made sure I had room in our carry on for a bottle of Nana’s original “Worchester sauce”, made without anchovies, and a jar Kiwi Artisian’s “Black Truffle Seasoning”.

We ended the evening in our very own private dining room where sadly we were left less than impressed wondering why our expectations hadn’t been met especially when the cost of the meal was more than our weekly grocery bill.

Exclusive and intimate venues across Queenstown

A trip to Queenstown wouldn’t be complete without some relaxation in a mountainside spa overlooking the Shotover River and be sure to read our blog on finding some more hidden gems around town.

As New Zealand’s only personalized and bespoke Romance Planner, finding the perfect location in Queenstown for your special occasion is my top priority.

Being able to tour these stunning venues, to ensure that they can be utilized to aid in creating an intimate and exclusive space for our clients, is a responsibility I take very seriously.
